BHAKTAPUR DURBAR SQUARE

 Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the major tourist destination of Kathmandu valley. It served as the capital for the Malta Kingdom until 1769 AD. The courtyards, temples, palace buildings, statues and monuments inside the square were constructed in different eras by Newari artists. Some of the major monuments and temples inside the ,Bhak-tapur Durbar Square are the Golden Gate. 55 I Windoweds Palace, Big Bell, I Dog Barking Bell, Siddhilaxmi Temple, Taleju Bhagwati Temple, Statue of King Bhupatindra 1 Malla, National Art Gallery and t Vatshala Temple etc. In Newari I dialect, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square is called 'Layaku.'
