The temple of Barahi is located 50 meter north from the Barahi Chowk of Surya Binayak. This is a one-storied temple built in pagoda style in dedication of goddess Barahi. It is the shrine of one of the eight mother goddesses of Bhaktapur. The temple is considered auspicious for different ceremonies like marriage and Bratabanda.
Around 600 meter east from the Western Gate (near to Siddhi Pokari) of Bhaktapur is a temple of Bahahi Dyo :chhe (house of goddess Bahahi). This four-storied temple has an impressive facade reflecting the finest Newari artisanship. Non-Hindus are restricted from entering this temple.
