Within the distance of 100meter from the KumbheshworTemple is a monastery ofSunayshree Mishra Yampi Mahabihar. This monastery was constructed by a Buddhist monk, Samayshree Mishra. It is the oldest monastery in Lalitpur district It is believed that during the great drought that took place for 12 years in Kathmandu valley in the ancient period, the Rato Machhindranath was brought from Assam, India, and kept in this monastery.
